Just an update for the next week, for your benefit, of course. My first gaming awards should be up this week. I wanted to give you all the chance to voice your opinions on who you think should win these awards,so I'm posting the categories early...

...and of course, Game of the Year, which will have it's own post. Like I said, I would love to know who you guys think should win these things, so feel free to give your winners in a reply on this post. Hey, if I get good lists, I might do a special response post.
Secondly, I have plenty of reviews pending since I was able to get many games this Christmas. Look for reviews for Assassin's Creed II, Dragon Age: Origins, Borderlands, Dead Space, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed in the next couple months as I finish them. Also, I'm sure Mass Effect 2 and BioShock 2 will make their way in the review list as they also release in the next 2 months.
Thirdly, I would love to hear more about what you guys liked and didn't like about my posts in 2009. As I head into 2010, I want to make my blog the best it can be, and that can only be done with your responses. Please let me know what you like, what could be better, and what should go.
Lastly, I'd like to pass on to you a new feature that will be coming soon. I have the great oppurtunity to try many games quite a bit, but many games I try I do not buy, and therefore I do not review them. I will be implementing a sort of preview post starting in 2010. These posts will be first impression posts on game demos or games that I have the oppurtunity to try. I think this will be a great oppurtunity to give a great response on game demos.

Wow this is gonna be a long post so grab a chair. Also it will be just games i've played this year (except in some cases) JSYK.
ReplyDelete360 Game of Year: Modern Warfare 2. Pretty much geared for the 360, MW2 is great for single player, spec ops and multiplayer on xbox live.
PS3: Uncharted 2. We all know why.
Wii: Wii Motion Plus. LOL. uh no i guess Dead Space Extraction? I really don't have a say in the matter...
Story: three way tie between AC2 Brutal Legend and Arkham Asylum. They all vary so much so i can't pick just one. Yes i know i am a pussy.
Multiplayer: Sigh. MW2. If only it could fix matchmaking. ODST makes a good case with Firefight though...
Graphics: AC2. WOW. WOW. Just WOW. Can you say detail? Probably best presentation tie with Brutal Legend too, if that were a category...
All-Around: What do you mean? imma confused. You should write a blog clarifying and i'll write my answer in the comments. :D
Most Potential: Arkham Asylum or Brutal Legend. Batman shows superhero games how it's done, but BL is pretty innovative...
Biggest Surprise: Metal Gear for 360. Sweet. Or Sony actually having a great year. Hooray.
Overhyped: The Conduit. Great poster tagline if they ever make a movie for it: "They said they could make a shooter work on the Wii. They were wrong." LOL.
Gameplay: A three-way (;D) between AC2 MW2 and Brutal Legend. Oh and Arkham Asylum. God i enjoy too many games...
Coolest Weapon: The Duece from Brutal Legend or Pistol from ODST. Pick ur poison. Oh that reminds me, the poison from AC2. and John Lennon's guitar that you use to beat the shit out of McJagger in the hidden bonus level of The Beatles Rock Band.
Best Character: Ezio Auditore da Firenze. He is so dynamic more so than any other character this year in games. Reminded me a lot of Niko Bellic.
Best Villain: The Joker. No contest here IMO. A goddamn force of nature that taunts you even when you think you've beaten him. A wonderful performance by Mark Hammill seals the deal.

2010 game: Mass Effect 2. :D
Developer: Ubisoft Montreal. Fixing a game like AC into AC2 merits three of the same award for next year nad the year after. they're that good.
Publisher: Not really sure. don't really follow stuff too well in this department. I guess EA for having EA partners?
Game I no play: Uncharted. :'(
Oops... all around game is gonna be MW2. if AC2 had multiplayer i would pick it though...
